Dyson DC26 City

Dyson DC26 City in palm of hand

The Dyson DC26 City, also known as the DC26 Wood + Wool, is Dyson's all new, ultra-compact cylinder vacuum cleaner.

Despite its small dimensions - it's small enough to fit on a sheet of A4 paper when folded up and can even rest in the palm of your hand - the Dyson DC26 City has the performance of a big vacuum. It is therefore ideal for accommodation where space is at a premium or for those who simply love the latest and greatest technology.

Weighing just 5.2kg, it is Dyson's smallest and lightest cylinder vacuum. Five years in development, Dyson has managed to miniaturise and incorporate their patented Root Cyclone technology meaning, like other Dyson cleaners, the DC26 does not lose suction.

The Dyson DC26 has an RRP of £249.99. However, you can use the table below to compare the cheapest prices for the DC26. As you can see, we have scoured the web's most popular retailers to find you the cheapest UK deal.

If you're going to buy the Dyson DC26 City, you really do not need to look any further!

The Dyson DC26

When deciding between vacuum cleaners, it is also worth remembering that a Dyson cleaner does not have any ongoing or extra costs. This is because other vacuum cleaners require replacement bags, belts and filters. Research conducted by Dyson has shown this can save you £126.65 compared to a Miele cleaner (S5260 Cat & Dog), £44.95 compared to a Numatic cleaner (Henry) and £107.40 compared to a Sebo cleaner (K1 Airbelt).

With 160 Air Watts (AW) of suction, despite its small size of 267 mm x 330 mm x 210mm, the DC26 does not compromise on performance. Aswell, since the DC26 spins out dust and dirt using centrifugal force this means there is no loss of suction over the lifetime of the cleaner.

If you are an asthma or allergy sufferer, it contains a HEPA filter. This retains allergens, the end result being you can breathe cleaner indoor air; the air expelled by the DC26 contains up to 150 times less bacteria and mould than the air you typically breathe! The efficiency of the Dyson range of vacuum cleaners is widely-acknowledged, with 12 allergy associations worldwide approving them.

Emptying your DC26 is also effortless, with a single button press required to empty the built-in, transparent bin. Because the bin is transparent, you'll be able to tell at a glance as soon as it's empty rather than having to remember to check.

The Dyson DC26's Dual Channel Floor Tool

What ever your floor type - be it carpet, ceramic, vinyl and wood - the DC26 will provide it with a thorough cleaner, thanks to its Dual Channel Floor Tool which directs suction power evenly via two separate airflow channels. The Dual Channel Floor Tool is both small and flat, allowing it to effectively clean hard-to-reach places, such as underneath your sofa.

It also comes with a Combination Tool and a Stair Tool. The Combination Tool is ideal for cleaning areas which would otherwise be awkward, such as skirting boards. The Stair Tool, combined with the maximum reach of 8 metres and a cord length of 5 metres of the DC26, makes removing dust and dirt from stairs almost effortless.

Although small, the DC26 is durable and of tough construction. Thoroughly tested by Dyson's engineers, they found that it will withstand being dropped onto a hard floor 5,318 times and being thrown against a metal wall 10,000 times. If that doesn't give you peace of mind, the comprehensive 5 year parts and labour guarantee which comes with the DC26 for no extra cost surely will.
